TIPS FOR SELECTING YOUR SHOWER DOOR

-Framed & Semi-Frameless Shower Doors

  • have aluminum framing the glass panels (semi-frameless have no or minimal framing around the door only)
  • Include a bottom track that collects and traps water, requiring periodic cleaning
  • Swing doors only open outward

-Frameless

  • a newer design style with through-the-glass mounted towel bars or handles and different thicknesses of glass
  • easier to keep clean
  • create a feeling of spaciousness
  • Swing doors can open in and out
  • Additional panels can be mounted with either glass clamps or aluminum channel

-The thickness of the glass in your door is dependent on structural and design factors.  Heavy shower door enclosures require sufficient support in the wall where the door is intended to swing from.

-Clear glass showcases tile and stonework in the shower and can make the small space of your bathroom feel larger.

-Satin or frosted glass offers the most privacy. Textured and patterned glass provides privacy as well as a stylish element.

- Consider ordering your clear glass with permanent protection against corrosion and staining. Diamon-Fusion or Enduroshield (depending on which type of enclosure) is applied only once during manufacturing and is offered on all clear glass shower enclosures.  Click the link to see for yourself and to learn more.
